Visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic

The “Sri Dalada Maligawa” , also known as The Temple of the Tooth, houses the sacred tooth relic of Lord Buddha and is one of the most beautiful and iconic Buddhist temples, located in the historic city of Kandy. This place of worship dates back to the 16th century AD overlooking the majestic Kandy Lake.

During your visit, you can observe some of the Buddhist rituals and crowds of white-clad pilgrims with lotus flowers for offerings. This temple was classified a world heritage by UNESCO in 1988 and carries the utmost value to Buddhist world-over.

Adorned with intricate carvings, its architectural splendor is truly a sight to behold. The audience hall, Aluth Maligawa and the museum are a few popular areas of visit that will leave you in absolute awe.

Guests will be required to dress modestly during their visit to Sri Dalada Maligawa, and white attire covering your shoulders and legs have been recommended.
