Sustainable Ecosystem Integration

Within our eco-conscious design, we've nurtured living roofs adorned with indigenous creepers and sedums such as water grass, beach purslane, and dwarf bamboo. We've thoughtfully incorporated water gardens, swales, and rainwater management systems to prevent erosion. Through the collection of rainwater and the use of natural fertilizers, we sustain the lush grounds and cultivate edible gardens. Alongside the gentle contours leading to the lake, you'll find tea, cinnamon, lemongrass, and bamboo thriving. Descend further, and you'll discover a forest path meandering through native trees and mangroves, creating a haven for native butterflies and nesting birds.

Utilizing Nature's Energy

Under the expert guidance of the local sustainable consultancy, Carbon Consulting Company, Tri is resolutely committed to yearly reductions in its carbon footprint and the continual promotion of sustainable principles. This unwavering dedication includes vigilant oversight of water and electricity consumption. Through the utilization of cutting-edge appliance inverter technology and LED lighting, which also minimizes disruption to the local ecosystem, we ensure that energy usage is optimized alongside the harnessing of natural power from solar PV panels and solar arrays.

Utilizing Indigenous Materials

Our commitment to sustainability extends to our choice of materials. We've carefully selected recycled local jak wood to fashion windows, doors, flooring, and cladding. Exteriors are adorned with cinnamon sticks, seamlessly merging our structures with the landscape, ensuring privacy, and regulating temperature. Balconies and terraces are adorned with a natural pebble wash, created from stones sifted from on-site construction sand. We've harnessed the essence of three varieties of local granite—natural, handpicked, and bush-hammered—to construct pathways, flooring, steps, vanities, and shower walls, all sourced from our local surroundings.

Enhancing the Environment

At Tri, our unwavering commitment revolves around revitalizing the natural habitat, enhancing the diversity of flora and fauna (before construction, a total of 51 bird species, 18 butterfly species, and 9 dragonfly species were recorded on-site), and the cultivation of native trees and shrubs. In addition, we've launched a comprehensive initiative for mangrove planting and shoreline preservation to combat the erosion along the lakeshore.

At Tri, our commitment to sustainability runs deep, ingrained in every facet of our design, operation, and ethos. We aspire to be recognized among the best eco-friendly hotels in Sri Lanka, a testament to our enduring dedication to the environment and the community we call home. From our 'Utilizing Nature's Energy' initiatives to our 'Enhancing the Environment' endeavors, we endeavor to exemplify a harmonious coexistence between modern luxury and nature's serenity. Our sustainable practices, together with our utilization of indigenous materials and our unwavering commitment to biodiversity, exemplify our enduring promise to inspire positive change and offer you an unforgettable experience amidst Sri Lanka's natural beauty.
