One of the most exquisite gardens in Sri Lanka, the Peradeniya Botanical Garden spreads across 147 acres and is home to one of the most spectacular collections of flora in the South Asian region. Primarily established to introduce coffee, cinnamons and various other tropical plants of economic importance to the region back in 1821, the Garden is now home to as much as 4000 types of different plant species scattered around the garden are medicinal plants, spices, orchids, ferns and so much more. You can spend hours walking in the park, exploring pavilions and plant houses, or rest on one of the many lawn chairs and absorb the views around you. Since the park is in the town of Kandy, you can explore the city too.
